Intensives

Focused Healing

Therapy intensives condense months of weekly therapy into just a few days. These extended sessions are structured to help you move through painful memories, find relief from stuck points, and experience meaningful progress without waiting weeks between appointments.

Whether you are navigating a single traumatic event, feeling stuck in ongoing therapy, or simply need a flexible option that fits your schedule, intensives offer an accelerated path toward healing.

  • A therapy intensive is a focused, extended block of treatment designed to help you make meaningful progress in a shorter amount of time than traditional weekly sessions. Instead of working for 50 minutes once a week, intensives offer several hours in a single day or across a few days.

This concentrated format allows us to:

    • Go deeper, faster — without losing momentum between sessions.

    • Target specific issues — such as trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, or feeling “stuck” in therapy.

    • Work flexibly — ideal if you have limited time in your schedule or prefer not to wait months to see results.

During an intensive, we create a structured plan tailored to your needs. The schedule typically includes assessment, preparation, focused therapeutic work, built-in breaks, and time for integration. At the end, you leave not only with progress made, but also with an aftercare plan to support continued growth.

  • An EMDR intensive is a concentrated block of therapy—typically 3 to 8 hours per day over one or more days. Instead of spreading the work across months of weekly sessions, we focus deeply in a short, planned format.

During an intensive, we combine assessment, preparation, and EMDR reprocessing with built-in breaks and regulation techniques. This format allows you to process more fully while maintaining the safety and pacing that are central to effective EMDR.

  • Therapy intensives are designed for people who want to experience meaningful progress in a shorter amount of time. They may be a good fit if you:

    • Have a busy schedule that makes weekly sessions difficult to maintain.

    • Prefer focused, goal-directed work with fewer interruptions.

    • Feel like you’ve reached a plateau in regular therapy and want a breakthrough.

    • Are facing a major life transition and want extra support in a concentrated format.

    • Want to reduce time away from work, school, or family while still engaging in deep therapeutic work.

  • Every intensive is designed around your unique needs and goals. Instead of following a rigid template, we build a customized plan that balances focused therapeutic work with breaks, regulation strategies, and time for integration.

    A typical intensive may include:

    • Initial check-in and preparation to clarify your goals and ensure safety and readiness.

    • Extended therapeutic work in longer blocks, allowing us to go deeper without the interruptions of a standard session.

    • Built-in breaks and regulation practices to keep the process manageable and grounded.

    • Integration and planning at the end of each day to help you carry insights forward into daily life.

Some clients prefer shorter half-day formats, while others choose full-day or multi-day schedules. Together, we determine the pace, structure, and focus that will best support your progress.

  • We provide a preparation guide before your intensive. This includes journaling prompts, self-care tips, and what to bring with you to make the most of your time.

  • You can keep your primary therapist while working with us for an intensive. With your permission, I can collaborate to ensure your ongoing care is supported.

  • You will leave with an integration plan, including resources and recommendations to help the gains from the intensive “stick.” Many clients return to their weekly therapist, while others schedule follow-up sessions as needed.
